I am posting on behalf of the commish this week who is busy saving lives (I mean, shipping books).
Rutgers (+2.5) at Louisville (this is a Thursday game)
OU (-3) at mizzou
V Tech (-4) at BC
Tennessee (+7.5) at LSU
Washington (+14) at Hawaii (the only undefeated team left)
Filed under: FBB Picks and Standings

Rutgers (+2.5) at Louisville
I’ll take the “ville with Brian Brohm and Harry Douglas playing their last game at home… Rutgers is bad on the road and they have nothing to play for, already accepting a bowl bid… Now let’s end this travesty of a football season and get on to basketball… Cards cover…
Rutgers (+2.5) at Louisville
I think RObert’s right on this one. If for no other reason than to send Brohm off with a win (and a shred of Cardinal dignity), the ‘ville’s gotta pull it out for him. I’ll go with the Cards to cover.
OU (-3) at mizzou
I’m surprised OU is favored in this game (did I get that right?), especially with the confidence mizzou is playing with right now, the rankings, and home field advantage. mizzou did not have Temple in the last match-up and Daniels threw two interceptions. I don’t see that happening this week. He looked so comfortable in the Kansas game (too comfortable!) with similar pressure and a lot more emotion on the field. I think mizzou takes this one and covers. But as we said after the KU game, Daniels still has to get up every morning and look at that hideous cleft chin thing, so maybe that makes it a little better.
Va Tech (-4) at BC
Two 10-2 teams with the Orange carrot looming. Both great stories, but I have to say I sure did like that nice boy Matt Ryan in the CGD special they ran a few weeks ago. And the Eagles average over 100 more yards per game than Va Tech. But the Va Tech defense did hold BC scoreless for almost an hour in Oct., so this is a tough call. I have to go with the nice boy and the Eagles to pull out their second win against the Hokies this year.
Tennessee (+7.5) at LSU
As long as this doesn’t go into triple overtime, I take the Tigers to fight for the BCS bid.
Washington (+14) at Hawaii
I included this one because Hawaii is shaking things up with Colt Brennan running the field for the Heisman and Hawaii looking for their first BCS bowl invitation in school history. As much as I like our good friend Tyrone Willingham, I think Hawaii clobbers and easily covers.
Goin with the Ville…remaining picks and standings from last week to follow
Guess we all lucked out last night with the Cards pulling one out… Good thing the line dropped to 2.5
OU (-3) at mizzou
Juj, don’t be surprised that OU is favored… The lines aren’t set by the media or fans or coaches… They are set by casino owners with only one thing in mind… Not who the better team is but how to get even money on both sides… OU has the better name recognition with the Average Joe-Schmoe football bettor out there… OU has played in more big games, have been ranked higher than Mizzou all year (until last week), and have already beaten them this year… I would have been surprised if they WEREN’T favored over Mizzou… That being said, I’ll take Mizzou… Too much offense for the Sooners to keep up with… It wouldn’t surprise me to see OU win, and I wouldn’t touch this game betting with real money, but for FBB purposes, I’ll take Mizzou (but definitely pull for OU)…
V Tech (-4) at BC
I wanna take BC here getting points but in an effort to close the gap on the FBB points leader, I have to go contrarian… Give me Va Tech…
Tennessee (+7.5) at LSU
In another effort to catch the leader, I’ll take the Vols… Les Miles has Michigan on his mind, and LSU D Coordinator Bo Pelini is polishing his resume for the Huskers head job (yeah, I like saying head job)… Neither of them are working very hard this week on a gameplan for a game with no NC implications… Meanwhile, nothing would ease the pressure on Fat Man Fulmer than a Tennessee berth in the Sugar Bowl… This game means more to Tennessee and they are getting 7 1/2… If I were betting with real money, I’d buy off the hook to make it 7… At least then if the game goes to OT, I would be safe regardless of the winner… Too juicy to pass on… Go Vols…
Washington (+14) at Hawaii
Good teams usually go to Hawaii and get beat (Wisconsin and Alabama in the past few years)… Since Washington sucks, no chance they cover… Teams from the mainland go over to the island, hang on the beach, get hungover from drinks with little umbrellas in them and then lay an egg on the field… No change here… Hawaii wins and they play the LSU/Tennessee winner in the Sugar Bowl… I’d love to see a Hawaii offense play an SEC defense… That would be fun… Go Rainbow Warriors…
OU (-3) at mizzou
What a great game. Mizzou is experiencing the dream season while OU is relatively disappointed. Daniel has earned his seat at the NYAC as evidenced by this play throughout the season; highlighted by a 40 for 49 performance in Arrowhead last week. I hate mizzou but love their offense and ability to manage the turnovers. miz-zou covers.
V Tech (-4) at BC
Another revenge game. Typically when two evenly team meets twice in the same season the loser of the first match-up takes the encore. The Hokies, like USC and Georgia, are coming together at the right time. Va Tech covers.
Tennessee (+7.5) at LSU
Too many distractions for the Bayou Bengals….making Tennessee the popular picks. Based on the that I’ll go with LSU as they try regain respect.
Washington (+14) at Hawaii
Love Ty but Hawaii should take this in a walk. Again, to mix things up I’ll go with the Huskies to cover.
OU (-3) at mizzou
Hopefully Mizzou routs them. I’ll take the Tigers.
V Tech (-4) at BC
I’ll take the Hokies big.
Tennessee (+7.5) at LSU
I say, with all the distractions, Tenn keeps it close. The other UT covers.
Washington (+14) at Hawaii
Hawaii in a rout.
sorry - had to reinstall firefox. My picks are:
OU, VaTech, Tennessee, Washington.
